New York based journalist Anna North is already causing a stir, having had her work published in San Francisco Chronicle, The Paris Review, and BuzzFeed.

The staff editor at The New York Times released her debut novel America Pacifica in 2011, but now the talented newcomer's career is really set to take off after releasing her second novel The Life and Death of Sophie Stark in May this year. The book, published by Orion Publishing Group, is a 'haunting story of fame, love, and legacy told through the propulsive rise of an iconoclastic artist'. It has already taken the US by storm having been selected as one of Goodreads Hottest Summer Books, and with fans including filmmaker and actress Lena Dunham, who described the book as 'Deceptively simple - what seems like a collection of loose and easy interwoven recollections is actually thriller paced, with mysteries revealed at every turn. The great mystery at the centre is Sophie Stark, a totally unforgettable female antihero who conforms to absolutely none of our expectations and suffers deeply for it'. With great reviews and celebrity fans, the future looks bright for this rising star.
